Late-Night Patient and Visitor Access

UMMC Midtown Campus visiting hours are 8 am – 8 pm, with the opportunity for one care partner to stay overnight if checked in by 9 pm.

The main doors of the hospital are closed from 9 pm – 6 am, and the only entrance for overnight visitors is the Emergency Room entrance which is staffed by security.

We understand there are occasions where it is best for the patient and family to have someone emergently arrive at the hospital after 9 pm and before 6 am when the main doors open. Approval for after-hours visits must be obtained by the charge nurse on the unit. If you are approved for after-hours visitation in an emergent situation, please report to the Emergency Room entrance. Security will verify approval and direct you to the unit.
