Fall 2024 Grade 'A' for Patient Safety from the Leapfrog Group Puts Towson Hospital Among Leaders in Patient Safety Locally and Nationally

The University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) announces the appointment of Peggy Norton-Rosko, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, Senior Vice President and Chief Nurse Executive for the University of Maryland Medical System, as the System’s representative to the board of directors for the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health (UM UCH) and its hospitals.

This November, the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) continues its participation in Operation Green Light for Veterans, a national initiative to honor U.S. military veterans by illuminating buildings and landmarks in green. UMMS has participated in Operation Green Light since the initiative was launched three years ago.

 

The University of Maryland Shore Regional Health (UM SRH) Board of Directors recently welcomed five new members: Christine Helfenbein, David Milligan, Milton Nagel, Talli Oxnam and Christopher Runz, DO. The Board's composition includes representatives from the five counties served by UM SRH, the regional physician community and the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS). UM SRH is a member organization of UMMS.

University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health (UM UCH), a member organization of the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS), has received the largest philanthropic donation in the organization's history, a $20 million transformational gift from Danny and Gail Jones, philanthropists and owners of the Jones Junction automotive business, at the health system's biennial Starnight Gala November 2.

More than 400 community members across Anne Arundel County and the surrounding areas connected with neighbors and local health services during the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center's (UM BWMC's) Fall Community Wellness Day at the Severn Center earlier this month.

More than 200 community members attended a special event this month at the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center (UM BWMC) – a member organization of the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) – to hear about resiliency strategies from one of baseball’s greatest players.
