With the beautiful rural counties that make up Maryland’s Eastern Shore comes an inherent challenge – how to transport patients needing medical care in a timely fashion. Often, trips between University of Maryland Shore Regional Health (UM SRH) facilities can take several hours. Faced with this challenge, the University of Maryland Chester River Health Foundation (UM CRHF) worked on a solution with UM SRH’s parent organization, the University of Maryland Medical System.
Vanhoy, UM Shore Medical Center at Queenstown Emergency Nurse Manager, Retires After Three Decades Caring for University of Maryland Shore Regional Health Patients
June 20, 2024Mary Alice Vanhoy, MSN, RN, is as close to a household name as you might find in Queen Anne’s County. Retired last month after 30 years with University of Maryland Shore Regional Health (UM SRH), including 15 as nurse manager at University of Maryland Shore Emergency Center at Queenstown, Vanhoy leaves a strong legacy of nursing leadership and innovation, quality patient care and community service.
Morgan Blue Promoted to Director of Operations for UM Shore Medical Group
June 17, 2024Morgan Blue recently was named Director of Operations for University of Maryland Shore Medical Group (UM SMG), which includes more than 150 physician and advanced practice providers in more than 21 primary care and specialty practices throughout Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s and Talbot counties. UM SMG is affiliated with UM Shore Regional Health (UM SRH), a member hospital of the University of Maryland Medical System.

Del Puppo Joins UM Shore Medical Group – Primary Care at Centreville
May 28, 2024University of Maryland Shore Medical Group (UM SMG) – Primary Care at Centreville recently welcomed Jamie Del Puppo, MSN, RN, CRNP, as a nurse practitioner. Most recently, Del Puppo served as a nurse clinician in the medical-surgical oncology inpatient unit at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

Following a nationwide search, the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) has named Richelle Webb Dixon, FACHE, a veteran of more than 20 years in hospital operations, ambulatory care, medical education and community advocacy in a variety of settings, as the System’s new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).
Gov. Moore Signs Significant Funding Bills Securing the Future of Trauma Care for Marylanders
May 17, 2024Dozens of Shock Trauma team members, trauma survivors and supporters traveled to the state capital Thursday to support Maryland Governor Wes Moore, Senate President Bill Ferguson and House Speaker Adrienne Jones as they signed a consequential bill into law expanding annual funding for Maryland’s renowned statewide trauma system, ensuring access to world-class trauma care for Marylanders well into to the future.
