UMMS Board Member Gilberto de Jesús Nominated by White House for Key Administration Post

Gilberto de Jesús, a member of the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) Board of Directors, has been nominated to be Chief Counsel for Advocacy of the U.S. Small Business Administration by President Barack Obama. He has served on the UMMS Board of Directors since 2009.
Currently, de Jesús is a senior attorney in the Office of Communications Business Opportunities at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in Washington. He obtained his B.A. from Columbia University and his J.D. from the National Law Center at George Washington University.
Previously, de Jesús served as a Senior Legislative Fellow in the Office of U.S. Senator Benjamin Cardin, an attorney Advisor with the FCC's Investigations & Hearing Division, and Secretary of the Juvenile Justice Department in Maryland.
