Who We Are

The UMMC and MTC Facilities Project Development Department maintains the needs of the Medical Center by refreshing units, remodeling entire units, and updating departments throughout the hospital as necessary

What We Do

The UMMC and MTC Facilities Project Development Department oversees, manages and directs design and construction projects both small and large. We ensure that projects are running according to schedule, meet financial objectives, are cost effective, and meet organizational goals

Upcoming Initiatives

There are several projects currently underway. Here are some notable projects:

  • Downtown Center for Advanced Medicine: This project builds a new 150,000 square foot building adjacent to the North Hospital to house relocated and expanded comprehensive Cancer Care Services. It also includes 70,000 square feet of renovations to the existing North Hospital.
  • Downtown Ambulatory Building: This project creates a new Ambulatory Building on top of the Medical Center garage adjacent to the Paca Pratt Building. This building includes a mix of practices from the following service lines: Heart & Vascular Center, Neurosciences Center, Otorhinolaryngology Center, and Transplant Center.
  • Child & Adolescent Psychology Unit: This project creates a new 16-bed child and adolescent psychology unit on the 11th floor of the North Hospital. This will replace the existing child psychology unit on P4G and add adolescents to the service.
  • Shock Trauma Renewal III: Modernizing and expanding the TRU/CCRU and the operations that support it including a new Blood Bank, Radiology, and major building infrastructure upgrades.

UMMC is committed to supporting local, women and minority owned businesses. We have a departmental goal of 25% WMBE participation on projects.
