Cancer Surgery
Our experienced surgeons can take care of a range of problems, including more straightforward cancers, advanced or recurring cancers and rare tumor types. Working with medical and radiation oncology colleagues, our surgical team at the Tate Cancer Center provides a complete range of diagnostic and specialized treatment services for targeted cancers, such as colorectal, lung, pancreatic, stomach, liver, esophageal cancers and peritoneal carcinomatosis, as well as advanced gynecologic cancer, breast cancer, melanoma and soft tissue tumors.
As part of UM BWMC's Genitourinary Oncology Program, our expert urologists diagnose and surgically treat cancers of the prostate, bladder, kidney, male genitalia and testis, as well as related conditions and diseases.
Our surgeons are specialized in minimally invasive techniques including laparoscopic and robotic surgery. They work with each patient to identify the best surgical plan to remove tumors and cancerous tissues, while involving the other members of the patient's cancer care team.
