UMMC Pharmacy at Baltimore Washington is the newest of six University of Maryland Medical Center Pharmacy locations. We serve the prescription needs of everyone — patients, University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) team members and the general public, even if your doctor is not an UMMS provider.

Located on the lower level of the Outpatient Care Center at University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center (UM BWMC), our pharmacy manages your new prescriptions, prescription refills and prescription transfers. We can answer any questions you have about your medications or our comprehensive pharmacy services.

When you have an appointment at UM BWMC, ask your doctor to send your prescription to our pharmacy and you can pick it up on your way out.

Pharmacy Services

We provide:

  • Bedside delivery
  • Refills via our automated telephone system or by speaking with a pharmacy representative
  • Auto-refills with a call or text letting you know when your prescription is ready for pick-up
  • Reminders by call, text or email that let you know when your prescription is ready
  • Filling of new prescriptions dropped off in person or sent electronically by your doctor

If you have a prescription for a specialty medication that we are unable to provide, we will have the team at UMMC Pharmacy at Linthicum, our specialty pharmacy, fill the prescription and ship it to your home.

Drug Disposal

Our DEA-registered drug take-back bins are a safe, convenient, responsible way for you to dispose of unwanted or expired medications.

Bedside Delivery

A convenient, free service, our bedside delivery medication program ensures your medications are brought to your room before you leave the hospital, saving you a trip to our pharmacy. Bedside delivery is available Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.

For Employees

24-hour ScriptCenter

ScriptCenter may be used by all UMMS and UM BWMC team members. It is conveniently located just outside the front door to the UM Pharmacy at Baltimore Washington. Most medications can be picked up from the automated ScriptCenter kiosk. Oversized, refrigerated or other drugs that require pharmacy staff attention must be picked up at the pharmacy counter.

Let the pharmacy staff know you would like to pick up your medications from the ScriptCenter kiosk either by visiting the pharmacy counter or calling us at 667-888-2999. When your prescriptions are ready, you will receive a "Claim Check" code via text. Use this code, along with the birthdate on file, when you are ready to pick up your medications.

How to Fill Prescriptions at UMMC Pharmacies

Refills

For prescription refills, simply call us (667-888-2999). Refills can be completed either through our interactive voice response system on the main pharmacy line or by speaking to one of our pharmacy representatives. Make sure you have your prescription number.

Transfer a Prescription

To transfer a prescription from another pharmacy, simply call the UMMC location of your choice. Be sure to have the other pharmacy's name and phone number as well as the prescription number(s).

Fax and Electronic Prescriptions

Your provider can send a paperless prescription directly to our pharmacy (use "UMMC Pharmacy at Baltimore Washington"). Prescriptions can also be faxed to us at 410-787-4104.

Drop Off

You are welcome to come directly to the drop-off window at pharmacy.
