Pathology and Labs

The pathology lab at University of Maryland Capital Region Health employs a full-service team of pathologists and medical laboratory scientists.

When your doctor orders lab tests, performs a biopsy or you get a blood transfusion, our team goes to work.

We provide accurate laboratory results as quickly as possible – often within 30 minutes, thanks to our advanced automated systems.

If you come to the hospital with chest pain, for a scheduled heart surgery or after a traumatic injury, our pathology and lab services experts deliver the information your care team needs to make decisions about your treatment. In fact, 70 percent of all medical care decisions are based on laboratory results.

Our Pathology and Clinical Laboratory Services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our Laboratory and Transfusion Service is fully accredited by the College of American Pathologists.
