Violence Intervention Program "CAP-VIP" Services
CAP-VIP provides a full range of services for our program participants. These services include but are not limited to:
- Individual counseling sessions
- Trauma support groups for survivors of violence where participants can exchange and learn how to cope with their injury and how to resolve conflict in their community
- Mental health counseling for the caregivers of survivors of violence (i.e., mothers and romantic partners)
- Intensive case management services
- Assistance with job training, life skills, and job placement
- Assistance with educational/vocational training
- Housing and legal assistance (i.e., expungement)
- Enrollment in health insurance coverage
- Peer support and mentoring
- Free transportation to CAP-VIP services using Lyft, Uber or MetroCard
- Referrals to community-based service providers
CAP-VIP services are provided free of charge to our program participants. The services are provided by CAP-VIP's front line staff. CAP-VIP front line staff includes:
- Social Worker/Clinical Counselor
- Case Manager
- Credible Messenger
CAP-VIP also provides referrals for these services to our community-based partners.
