Pulmonary Rehabilitation
After being diagnosed with lung disease, patients may feel discomfort and decreased lung function.
UM Capital Region Health provides every patient with a custom care plan that may include pulmonary rehabilitation, a supervised medical program that helps people who have lung diseases live and breathe better.
Many lung health patients can benefit from respiratory rehabilitation treatment, especially those diagnosed with chronic disorders, such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and interstitial lung disease.
Our program is designed for you to:
- Perform- daily tasks and do more of the things you enjoy
- Learn how to manage your symptoms and medications
- Relax and not panic when you feel short of breath
Pulmonary rehabilitation is prescribed through a referral from your primary care provider or pulmonologist. Once you are referred, our registered respiratory therapists will work with you to create an individualized program that meets your specific needs.
