How to Apply - Family Medicine Residency
The UM Capital Region Medical Center Family Medicine Residency is approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Applicants for first year positions must apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)
Applicants are selected through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP)
Minimum Selection Criteria
US citizenship, permanent resident or J1 visa (no H1 visas will be accepted)
- We accept international medical graduates from accredited medical schools
- Dean's letter from your medical school with transcript and three faculty letters, at least one of whom must be from a Family Medicine provider. Within the past 2 years (It would be preferable if one letter is from family medicine rotation)
- Passing scores on USMLE Steps 1 and 2 (CS/CK) or COMLEX-USA Equivalent
- ECFMG Certification at the time of entrance into the Residency Program, if applicable
We accept 4 new residents per year. To apply to the residency, visit the ERAS site.
