Life is different after being diagnosed with cancer. There are new challenges physically, emotionally, and spiritually. UM Charles Regional Medical Center offers a variety of programs and resources that help cancer patients and families throughout their cancer journey.

UM Charles Regional supports and provides a wide spectrum of specialties and programs designed to provide diagnosis, care, and support services for cancer patients - including diagnostic imaging, medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgery, pathology, and cosmetic and reconstructive surgery.

Infusion Therapy

Infusion therapy is a way to treat or manage neurological conditions or disorders of the nervous system. Infusion therapy involves administering medication directly into the bloodstream to change or alter the immune system.

The UM Charles Regional infusion Center provides state of the art infusion therapy to clinically appropriate patients in a relaxed, comfortable setting. Learn more about our infusion therapy services.

Imaging

UM Charles Regional Imaging, located in La Plata, is dedicated to providing both inpatient and outpatient imaging services using the latest technology.

Our outpatient imaging center meets all your imaging needs. Our team of board-certified University of Maryland faculty radiologists and highly skilled technologists uses high-tech imaging techniques to ensure you receive the highest-quality imaging services.

Breast Health

Extra support and specialized care are essential for women, especially when it comes to breast health. UM Charles Regional Medical Group's Breast Health experts can help provide these additional services from within a trusted local network of providers.

Urology

Our urologist has expertise in a full spectrum of urological diseases and disorders affecting men and women.

No matter your symptoms, you can count on us to provide convenient access to high quality, patient-centered urology care that improves your health and wellness.

Colonoscopy

Colonoscopies are available at our Endoscopy Center at the Medical Pavilion at 5 North La Plata Court, Suite 201, La Plata, MD 20646. A physician's order is required. To make an appointment, call 301-609-4510

Radiation Therapy

The Chesapeake Potomac Regional Cancer Center (CPRCC), with offices in both Charlotte Hall and Waldorf, is a community-based radiation therapy cancer center. These facilities provide radiation therapy services to the residents of Calvert, Charles and St. Mary's counties as well as Southern Prince Georges County. CPRCC is a joint venture of the Chesapeake Potomac Health Care Alliance (CPHA) and Maryland Regional Cancer Care.

Community Outreach

When you or someone you love is faced with a serious illness, finding the best care, close-to-home, can make all the difference.

UM Charles Regional offers and supports community education and support programs to raise awareness and help patients and families cope with the lifestyle changes associated with cancer. Our community outreach and activities include:

  • A toll-free referral line to assist persons with locating community cancer support groups and other cancer service-related organizations
  • Sponsorship of the annual Survivor's Walk and Reception for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life
  • Member of the Charles County Cancer and Tobacco Coalition
  • Partnership with the Charles County Health Department in providing clinical breast exams and pap tests for under and non-insured women
