A Welcome Message from our Chief Nursing Officer

Nurses are the cornerstone to building an organization that delivers excellent quality care to our patients and their families. Striving for excellence challenges us to care for each patient with the utmost compassion and enthusiasm and rewards us with a satisfaction like no other profession.
As the Chief Nursing Officer, I look for compassionate, enthusiastic nurses to join our extraordinary nursing team. My goal is to provide our nurses with a rewarding environment where evidenced-based medicine is utilized and professional development is encouraged. We offer mentorship and support to new hires and employed nurses through multiple programs with nursing leadership and clinical practice educators. Our nurse residency program is designed to ease newly licensed nurses through their first-year transition to independent clinical practice.
We recognize the contributions of our nursing staff and are committed to their continued growth and development through our Professional Advancement Model (Clinical Ladder). This is a program for our nursing staff to receive validation for their performance and achievements sustaining nursing excellence.
If you envision yourself working in an organization that sets and achieves high goals, fosters professional growth in a caring community, I invite you to visit us and discover for yourself why patients and employees alike choose the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center.
Sincerely,
Dana Cecil, MSN, RN
Vice President of Nursing Services
