Chaniece Simmons, WHNP, is a certified OB-GYN nurse practitioner at UM Charles Regional Medical Group - Women's Health in La Plata.

University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center, a member organization of the University of Maryland Medical System, announces the addition of Chaniece Simmons, WHNP-BC, a certified women’s health nurse practitioner, to its UM Charles Regional Medical Group – Women’s Health practice. Simmons is now seeing patients at the La Plata location.

“We are very excited to welcome Chaniece Simmons to our Women's Health team,” said Evalyne Bryant-Ward, Vice President of Ambulatory Services at UM Charles Regional. “Her expertise in women’s health and obstetric care will be a tremendous asset to our patients and to the community we serve here in Charles County.”

Simmons brings more than seven years of experience in obstetrics care, with expertise in supporting both low- and high-risk patients throughout the antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum periods. Her comprehensive approach to women’s health includes advanced clinical training in managing obstetric and gynecological patients, with skills ranging from routine wellness exams and contraceptive counseling to maternity care and menopause management.

“Women’s health is about providing care that addresses every stage of life, and I’m dedicated to ensuring each patient receives personalized, compassionate care,” Simmons said. “I look forward to working with the women in this community, supporting them through pregnancy and beyond.”

Simmons earned her Master of Science in Women’s Health from the University of Cincinnati and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing. Her background includes her time at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C., where she provided labor and delivery care.
