Tests and Diagnostics
The Children's Heart Program has the sophisticated imaging technology needed to diagnose babies with congenital heart disease in utero and work with families to determine pre-natal care and a birth plan that will give the infant and mother the best outcomes. The pediatric cardiology team provides the most sophisticated level of medical and/or surgical treatment needed to every child upon delivery, through childhood and into adulthood.
With accreditation from the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) in all forms of echocardiography – transthoracic, transesophageal and fetal – the University of Maryland Children's Heart Program's echo lab has expertise no matter what type of echo is required.
