How to Access the COVID-19 Response Website
The UMMS COVID-19 Response site allows clinical staff across UMMS to access essential COVID policies, guidelines and resources from any device whether it's on or off the UMMS network.
The site is available to anyone with an Active Directory login for any of our clinical or business systems, including Epic/MyPortfolio.
Note that this COVID-19 Response site is an exact replica of the intra.umms.org/covid section of the UMMS Insider that you’ve been referencing throughout this pandemic. That Insider site will continue to be available for all computers connected to the UMMS network. This new site will be most useful for devices that are not connected to the UMMS network.
If your device is NOT connected to the UMMS network

If your device is not connected to the UMMS network, two-factor authentication via the Symantec VIP Access app will be needed to access the COVID-19 site. This is the same app that is used to access your web mail and VPN applications.
- If you do not have the Symantec VIP Access application, you'll find download information on the Two-Factor Authentication page.
If you have the Symantec VIP Access application on your mobile device, please follow the steps below to log into the COVID-19 site.
- Go to covid.umms.org in any web browser. You may see a small countdown screen while the secure connection is made.
- Enter your UMMS email address ("@umm.edu" is needed) and network password.
- You will be asked for the Symantec VIP Access security code.
- Open the Symantec VIP Access app on your mobile device to find a unique 6-digit security code. Enter that code onto the login screen of the COVID-19 site.
- After the security code is entered, you will be logged into the UMMS COVID-19 Resources site. The mobile phone view is shown below.

If your device is connected to an UMMS Network
The use of select UMMS wireless networks may not require additional authentication. Note that the "UMMS-guest" network does require the VIP Access step listed above.
- Go to covid.umms.org in any web browser. You may see a small countdown screen while the secure connection is made.
- Enter your UMMS email address ("@umm.edu" is needed) and network password.
- The UMMS COVID-19 Resources site will display. The mobile phone view is shown here.
