About Me

I worked at UM Charles Regional Medical Center as a registered nurse for 17 years before moving over to the UM Charles Regional Medical Group - Primary Care practice as a nurse practitioner.

Back in my native Ghana, I was an elementary school teacher. But once I came to the United States, I became a nurse to honor the memory of my late elder sister who died at a hospital in New York. She did not have family here at the time to support her. Hearing the stories of the empathy her health care providers, particularly the nurses, showed for her inspired me to pursue a career in nursing. It was an opportunity to pay it forward.

After 17 years at UM Charles Regional, I realized I could make a bigger difference in our community if I became a nurse practitioner.

As a Family Nurse Practitioner, I am trained to provide annual physicals, preventative screening and checkups to people ages 17 and up, and also diagnose and treat patients with chronic and acute illnesses.

The central focus of my treatment philosophy is to listen actively to patients in order to educate, advocate for and work with them and their families to improve health outcomes as well as promote good health and wellness practices.

I am a member of the Nurse Practitioner Association of Maryland and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

I have lived in Waldorf, MD, with my husband and two children since 2006. I love to cook delicious Ghanian meals, read novels and watch investigative movies and shows.
