As a palliative medicine nurse practitioner, Christina Ball helps patients dealing with chronic medical conditions.

She strongly believes that the goal of palliative care is to create a comprehensive, effective care plan that improves the patient’s quality of life, helps them cope with the stress of having a serious illness, and provides opportunities that empower patients and their loved ones.

“By improving quality of life as well as allowing patients the opportunity to take charge of their healthcare goals with clinical guidance, patient outcomes are improved,” Ball said.

While Ball’s career has evolved with various clinical experiences over the years, palliative medicine has remained her particular area of interest. She finds helping patients and their families, particularly at a vulnerable point in their lives, to be very rewarding.
