Ahmed Saad Gawad, MD

A pediatrician, Dr. Gawad is dedicated to providing comprehensive care to children of all ages, from birth through adolescence. He has particular interest in treating and reducing pediatric obesity.

Dr. Gawad has been practicing pediatric medicine in Cambridge, Dorchester County, on Maryland's Eastern Shore since 1996. He also provides coverage to University of Maryland's emergency room departments in Cambridge and Easton. He admits pediatric patients to University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Easton and sees newborns in the hospital's labor and delivery unit. He helped start the "Walk with Doc" free walking program in Cambridge for teens and their parents and "Thrive Dorchester," a program geared toward addressing teen obesity in Dorchester County with help from physical therapists, dietitians and mental health therapists.

Dr. Gawad earned his medical degree from Ain Shams School of Medicine and his master's degree in pediatrics from Cairo University, in Cairo, Egypt. He completed a pediatric internship at Cairo University Children's Hospital, where he also spent four years in the Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolic Pediatric Unit. He completed his pediatric residency at Children's Hospital of Buffalo in New York State.
