Anique Kerry-Ann Forrester, MD

Dr. Forrester is a consultation-liaison psychiatrist. She specializes in treating psychiatric conditions in patients with severe and chronic medical conditions. She has special training in women’s mental health/perinatal psychiatry and psycho-oncology.

Dr. Forrester is director of the Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship at University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM). She is also the coordinator of UMSOM’s Cultural Psychiatry resident course. In addition, she is chief of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for UMSOM’s Department of Psychiatry and chair of UMSOM’s Department of Psychiatry Diversity Committee.

In her role as chief of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Dr. Forrester provides strategic vision and leadership for the Department of Psychiatry’s diversity and inclusion activities. Also in this role, she oversees the development and implementation of key goals related to diversity, equity and inclusion.

Within UMSOM’s Division of Consultation Liaison Psychiatry, Dr. Forrester is a part of a team that provides specialized care in the assessment and treatment of neuropsychiatric and behavioral symptoms of patients with complex medical illnesses. “We recognize the connection between mind, brain and body and strive to integrate all aspects of healing—physical, mental, emotional and social,” she says.

Dr. Forrester is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. In 2021, she received the Rose Memorial Award from the University of Maryland/Sheppard Pratt Psychiatry Residency Program.
