About Me

A gynecologic oncologist, Dr. Roque specializes in the drug and surgical treatment of cancers affecting female reproductive organs — including cervical, uterine, ovarian, vulvar and vaginal cancers — as well as gestational trophoblastic neoplasia. She also manages benign conditions requiring complex surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy. She offers open, traditional laparoscopic and robotic surgical options.

Dr. Roque is director of the Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology at University of Maryland Medical Center. In 2014, she joined the faculty at University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM) as an assistant professor in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology.

Dr. Roque graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from Duke University (Durham, North Carolina) and earned her medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine (Chapel Hill, North Carolina). She completed her residency in obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences at Magee Women's Hospital-University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) and a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at Yale University (New Haven, Connecticut).

Dr. Roque is active in clinical/translational trials and teaching at UMSOM. She previously served on the Rare Tumor Sub-Committee of NRG and the Clinical Practice Committee of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology. She currently serves on the Foundation for Women's Cancer's Patient Education Committee.

On multiple occasions, Dr. Roque has been named a "Top Doctor" in the specialty of gynecologic oncology by Baltimore magazine.
