About Me
Dr. Mancini is a psychiatrist who specializes in general adult psychiatry and forensic psychiatry. His interests include medical ethics, psychotherapy, medical education and psychiatric interfaces with the legal system. He has particular interest in treating young adults and members of LGBTQIA communities. Also a transplant psychiatry specialist, he does psychiatric pre-transplant evaluations for solid organ transplants at University of Maryland Medical Center.
Rather than just addressing the disease, symptom or psychiatric event, Dr. Mancini believes in treating the whole patient. He tells his patients that his goal is to limit, when possible, the number and types of medications prescribed not just to achieve the lowest effective dosage to treat but also to integrate and emphasize the importance of other mental health treatments, such as psychotherapy, holistic interventions and supportive mental health programs.
In his free time, Dr. Mancini enjoys swimming; cooking; traveling; and spending time with his dog, Holly. An art lover and collector, he also likes painting and other forms of art creation as well as visiting museums and galleries.
