About Me
Dr. Neschis has over 20 years of experience in the treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysms, carotid artery disease, limb salvage surgery and a wide variety of diseases involving arterial and venous circulation.
He currently serves as the chair of the Surgical Performance Improvement Committee at the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center.
Dr. Neschis is also a registered vascular technologist (RVT, a key reviewer for the Journal of Vascular Surgery, and a clinical associate professor of surgery at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
He has been in practice in the University of Maryland system since July 2000. He has been instrumental in the development of the vascular surgery and endovascular program and has helped train over 50 vascular surgeons. While at the University of Maryland Medical Center, he has accumulated a very high level of experience in the field of minimally invasive repair of traumatic aortic injury.
Born in New York, as hinted in his name, Dr. Neschis is the product of Austrian and Ukrainian grandparents, and he can speak German. His middle name translates to "good heart" in English. The son of an elementary school principal and a homemaker, he was raised to value family, education, and the adage that the "gift is in the giving". Young David always wanted to be a doctor and has never forgotten the awesome responsibility to give each patient the best possible care.
