About Me
Dr. Lohr completed his undergraduate studies at Johns Hopkins University, where he graduated with honors and then attended Hahneman Medical College in Philadephia, again graduating with honors. He then completed his orthopedic training at the University of Maryland in 1987.
Dr. Lohr completed his post-graduate fellowship under Dr. James Andrews in the field of sports medicine and arthroscopy, learning cutting edge methods of treatment with minimally invasive surgery. This included time as a team physician at the University of Alabama, and managing ski injuries in Colorado. Dr. Lohr completed a second fellowship in joint replacement under Rene Marti in Amsterdam.
Prior to beginning an orthopedic surgery practice in Chestertown in 1987, Dr. Lohr spent time in Peshawar, Pakistan, performing surgery on wounded fighters from the Afghanistan conflict. He has treated more than 35,000 patients since and performed thousands of surgeries. He and his physical therapy staff continue to treat all manner of musculoskeletal problems.
Dr. Lohr is a member of the University of Maryland Joint Network, a group of surgeons known for their advanced expertise and positive outcomes in total hip and knee replacement.
