About Me
Dr. Richard is an interventional radiologist who specializes in women's health interventions, urological interventions, and complex vascular retrievals and embolizations. He sees patients with chronic pelvic pain, for which he provides diagnostic and therapeutic image-guided nerve blocks.
Dr. Richard has special interests in uterine fibroid embolization and chronic pelvic venous congestion. He has extensive experience in urinary stone disease management and percutaneous image-guided cryosurgery surgery for renal cancer. With regard to complex vascular procedures, he is an institutional resource for patients with difficult embedded inferior vena cava (IVC) filters as well as image-guided embolization of persistent endoleaks.
Dr. Richard is an associate professor of diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine at University of Maryland School of Medicine. He has varied research interests. He is the primary investigator for the Ablation of Renal Masses Outcomes Registry (ARMOR) at the University of Maryland and the international registry for patients who receive cryosurgery for renal cancer. He is also the principal investigator of an ongoing prospective evaluation of treatments for patients with the pudendal neuralgia.
