About Me
A radiation oncologist, Dr. Hong is an expert in general radiation oncology with special interests in breast cancer, gynecologic cancer and prostate cancer. He is experienced in the latest radiation modalities including intensity modulated radiation therapy, image guided radiation therapy and stereotactic body radiation therapy. He is also recognized as a regional expert in the use of brachytherapy.
Dr. Hong brings the most promising and most advanced radiation therapy techniques to patients in Harford County, Maryland, and surrounding areas. He is the medical director of the radiation oncology program at the Kaufman Cancer Center. He works in collaboration with the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMGCCC) to promote and grow radiation oncology-based clinical trials and research protocols.
Dr. Hong is a graduate of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. He received his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. He completed his radiation oncology residency training at the University of Maryland Department of Radiation Oncology, where he was chief resident. He also completed a one-year American Cancer Society Fellowship in radiation oncology at the University of Maryland.
