About Me
As a cardiac surgeon, Dr. Brown treats the full range of heart disease, including ischemic, structural and valvular heart disease. Surgical procedures he performs include:
- Aneurysm repair
- Atrial fibrillation surgery
- Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)
- Heart valve repair and replacement
- Trans aortic valve replacement (TAVR)
- Ventricular assist device
Dr. Brown regularly performs complex heart procedures at University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center, where he designed the dedicated, state-of-the-art cardiac surgery operating room. Patients recover in the dedicated Cardiovascular Care area that is part of the UM Capital Region Heart & Vascular Institute.
Dr. Brown developed the cardiac surgery program at UM Capital Region Medical Center in order to bring world-class cardiac care to the residents of Prince George's County, Maryland. His hand-selected surgical team consistently delivers excellent patient outcomes for a wide range of cardiac surgical procedures and is regularly awarded the top national rating for excellence in coronary artery bypass grafting surgery by the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
