About Me

Dr. Karri is a physiatrist and pain medicine specialist. He specializes in non-surgical treatments for various chronic pain conditions. He has particular clinical interests in neuromodulation therapies that reduce pain and functional limitations caused by a wide range of musculoskeletal and peripheral nerve conditions.

Dr. Karri is an assistant professor in the Departments of Neurology, Anesthesiology and Orthopaedic Surgery at University of Maryland School of Medicine. He attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston (Houston, Texas). Thereafter, he completed a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at the highly competitive Baylor College of Medicine (Houston, Texas), where he also served as chief resident. He then completed a pain medicine fellowship at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

Dr. Karri has avid research interests in neuromodulation therapies such as spinal cord stimulation and peripheral nerve stimulation, publishing extensively on those topics as well as lecturing on them both locally and nationally. He has leadership roles in numerous national organizations, including the North American Neuromodulation Society and the American Academy of Pain Medicine.
