About Me
Dr. Lubek is board-certified by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. His clinical interests are focused on head and neck cancer surgery (malignant and benign tumors including salivary gland pathology and thyroid cancer), microvascular reconstructive surgery, transoral robotic surgery and maxillofacial trauma surgery.
Dr. Lubek is a professor in and fellowship director of the Oral-Head & Neck Oncology/Microvascular Surgery program in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at University of Maryland School of Medicine. He is actively involved in the training of surgical fellows, residents, and dental and medical students. In addition, he is involved with research on head and neck cancer and microvascular surgery, specialties on which he has published more than 70 peer-reviewed publications and lectured both nationally and internationally.
Dr. Lubek practiced as an affiliate assistant professor at Oregon Health & Science University and at Head & Neck Surgical Associates in Portland, Oregon. He received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. A Toronto, Ontario, Canada, native, he received his dental degree from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada.
Dr. Lubek completed both a general surgery internship and an oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. He completed a two-year head and neck surgery/microvascular reconstructive surgery fellowship at the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Dr. Lubek was named a "Top Doctor" in the specialty of oral-maxillofacial surgery by Baltimore magazine in 2020.
