About Me

Dr. Tsiapali is a fellowship-trained breast surgeon and breast health expert. She has years of experience treating all types and stages of breast cancer in both women and men. She understands her patients and knows that treating breast cancer is about more than removing a breast or a tumor.

"What I love most about my job is being able to develop a relationship with my patients and helping them regain as much quality of life as possible after treatment," Dr. Tsiapali says.

Dr. Tsiapali takes a team approach to patient care. "Everything about my practice is about caring for the patient. From the schedulers and medical assistants to the nurse navigator and social worker, we want to offer all our patients a personalized experience from diagnosis to survivorship," she says.

Dr. Tsiapali performs procedures at the University of Maryland Capital Surgery Center and University of Maryland Laurel Medical Center. As the surgical treatment of breast cancer is constantly evolving, she and her team use oncoplastic techniques to help preserve and even improve the appearance of the breast. "We use skin and nipple sparing mastectomies and reconstruction more frequently. This approach offers better cosmetic results and allows the patient to regain more function," Dr. Tsiapali says.
