About Me
Dr. Cullen is a widely recognized oncologist. He specializes in the treatment of head and neck cancers.
For 20 years, Dr. Cullen served as director of the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center. Under his leadership, the cancer center expanded its clinical and research programs significantly and became a National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center.
Currently, Dr. Cullen is a professor of medicine at University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM). He also heads UMSOM's Program in Oncology. From October 2000 to September 2002, he served as interim director of the Lombardi Cancer Center at Georgetown University. He also served as professor of medicine, oncology and otolaryngology at Georgetown University School of Medicine.
On multiple occasions, Dr. Cullen has been named a "Top Doctor" in the hematology/oncology specialty by Baltimore magazine. He was voted to The Washington Post Magazine's 2011 "Super Doctors" list for oncology.
Dr. Cullen is a member of the American Cancer Society National Board of Directors and is on the board of directors for the Association of American Cancer Institutes. In 2011, he was appointed by then President Barack Obama to a five-year term as a member of the National Cancer Advisory Board, an advisory committee of the National Cancer Institute.
