About Me

Dr. Mariano Arosemena is a board-certified vascular surgeon. He specializes in arterial and venous thoracic outlet syndrome, peripheral arterial disease, fenestrated endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repair (FEVAR), iliac branch endograft (IBE) and transcarotid artery revascularization (TCAR).

Dr. Arosemena is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). He is a member of the Eastern Vascular Society, Society of Clinical Vascular Surgery and Society of Vascular Surgery. He is a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI).

Dr. Arosemena completed his general surgery residency at University of Maryland Medical Center and received additional vascular surgery training at Thomas Jefferson University, perfecting all facets of open vascular surgery and the latest minimally invasive endovascular surgery techniques.

After completing his training, Dr. Arosemena was recruited to UM Baltimore Washington Medical Center as vascular surgery fellowship site director and clinical assistant professor of surgery at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Throughout his career, he has had the privilege of teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. He also trains surgeons around the country in advanced carotid artery procedures.

Dr. Arosemena was born and raised in Panama and is fluent in Spanish. As an active child, he spent countless hours in the ER with wounds and broken bones, and made up his mind to become a doctor.

While he loves the technical aspects of surgery, nothing is more important to him than earning a patient's trust and providing excellent and compassionate care. He has always believed that patients deserve to be treated like family.
