Melsjan Shkullaku, MD, MBA, FACC, is an Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and an adult structural and interventional cardiologist at the University of Maryland Medical Center.
Dr. Shkullaku's primary clinical focus is on the treatment of valvular and structural heart disease via established and emerging trans-catheter therapies. He is an integral part of the multidisciplinary structural cardiovascular disease program working closely with cardiac surgery providers. In addition, he treats patients with complex coronary artery and cardiogenic shock.
Dr. Shkullaku is an Albanian born physician who emigrated with his family to United States at the age of 11. He completed his Bachelor of Science Degree at Siena College and Medical Degree at State University of New York Upstate Medical University. Dr. Shkullaku made the University of Maryland home as he completed his internal medicine residency, cardiovascular fellowship, interventional cardiology, structural cardiology at and earned a Master of Business Administration through the system. He is excited to continue being part of the University of Maryland System and continue providing care to the Maryland community.
When not working, Dr. Shkullaku enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. His interests include the outdoors, coaching his daughters' soccer teams and involvement in community activities
