About Me
Dr. Siegel is a family medicine physician whose clinical interests include health equity, preventive care for adults and children, management of chronic disease, and treatment of anxiety and depression in primary care.
He helped the UM School of Medicine and University of Maryland Medical Center to establish UniversityCare, a primary care network in West Baltimore. He practiced family medicine at UniversityCare Edmondson Village for 24 years, including serving as medical director of the network for 15 years.
In 2019, Dr. Siegel moved his practice to University Family Medicine, where he continues to see patients of all ages who have trusted him for nearly 30 years.
In 1994, after two years in private practice in Bowie, MD, he joined the faculty of the University of Maryland School of Medicine as an assistant professor. He continues to enjoy teaching evidence-based medicine and effectively deploying clinical decision support.
Since 2010, he has served as medical director of ambulatory clinical informatics at University of Maryland Medical System, teaching doctors, staff and patients across Maryland how to use their electronic health records most effectively.
Dr. Siegel completed medical school at SUNY Downstate Medical Center at Brooklyn, magna cum laude in 1989. He completed family medicine residency training at Providence Hospital/Georgetown University in Washington DC, including serving as chief resident during his final year.
