About Me
Dr. Gaskin is a pediatric cardiologist. His primary clinical areas of interests are congenital heart disease, pulmonary hypertension (high blood pressure) and hyperlipidemia. He is highly regarded by his patients and colleagues for his dedication and gentle nature.
Dr. Gaskin is an associate professor of pediatrics at University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM). Prior to joining the University of Maryland in 2006, he served three years as medical director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Barbados. He then returned to the U.S. to serve as an attending physician at Howard University and Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
After completing his medical degree at the University of West Indies in Jamaica, Dr. Gaskin trained in Barbados. He completed his residency in pediatrics at Brooklyn Hospital Center in New York. His training continued at Duke University (Durham, North Carolina), where he completed a pediatric cardiology fellowship and a fellowship in pediatric interventional cardiology.
An accomplished teacher, Dr. Gaskin is dedicated to medical student, resident and fellow education. On multiple occasions, he has been named a "Top Doctor" in the specialty of pediatric cardiology by Baltimore magazine.
