Sapan Hemant Shah, MD

Dr. Sapan Shah is a board eligible orthopaedic surgeon with fellowship training in orthopaedic trauma. He specializes in the treatment of fractures in adult patients, with particular interest in pelvic and acetabular as well as complex periarticular injuries in both the upper and lower extremity.

A native Chicagoan, Dr. Shah attended medical school and orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago. It was during this time that he developed a growing interest in orthopaedic trauma. Often times these patients are living their normal lives until an accident dramatically changes their fortunes. Giving these patients a chance to return to normalcy and regain their independence was incredibly gratifying. This led him to Los Angeles where he completed a one year fellowship in orthopaedic trauma surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. 

He is a member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Additionally, he is dedicated to education and enjoys working with both residents and fellows from the University of Maryland. 

In his spare time he enjoys cooking, travel, working out, and spending time with his growing family.
