About Me
Dr. Regine is a leader in the field of radiation oncology. He is a recognized international expert in gastrointestinal and central nervous system malignancies and stereotactic radiosurgery. As executive director of the Maryland Proton Treatment Center, he is leading the first and most advanced proton therapy facility in the Baltimore-Washington region, providing nearly 2,000 cancer patients annually with precise, pencil-beam technology that treats solid tumors.
Dr. Regine has earned numerous prestigious honors during his career. In 2016, he received the Entrepreneur of the Year Award from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. In 2019, he received a Lifetime Achievement Award from The Daily Record as part of the publication's Health Care Heroes honors. He has been named a "Best Doctor in America," “Best Doctor in Baltimore,” “Super Doctor,” and “Top 1% of Doctors” honoree by multiple organizations over the years.
Dr. Regine leads University of Maryland School of Medicine's (UMSOM) Department of Radiation Oncology, which has achieved a top-five national ranking in National Institutes of Health research funding. He is the Isadore and Fannie Schneider Foxman chair, professor of Radiation Oncology, and senior associate dean for clinical affairs at UMSOM.
