About Me
As a surgical oncologist, Dr. Hu specializes in endocrine surgery and cancer surgery. His particular areas of interest include surgery for the thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands as well as minimally-invasive thyroid treatments such as radiofrequency ablation. His focus is on identifying patient preferences and values in order to develop the best possible treatment plan for each individual patient.
Dr. Hu takes a patient-empowered approach, both clinically and in his research. He emphasizes patient autonomy and individual treatment preferences, his research on those topics supported by the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Hu completed fellowship training in cancer surgery and specializes in benign and malignant endocrine diseases. He conducts research on patient decision-making, cancer treatment, health outcomes and surgical education. He has written over 50 publications.
Dr. Hu is an active member of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons and the Society of Surgical Oncology.
