Yolanda Tzushin Chik, MD

A neurohospitalist (a neurologist who provides inpatient care), Dr. Chik specializes in cerebrovascular neurology. She is dedicated to ensuring that the stroke program at University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center provides the very best care possible to stroke patients.

"Strokes can obviously be devastating in impairing someone's quality of life. I want to do what I can to limit the debility stroke can cause," she says. "Speed is integral in my specialty of stroke care, but I try to take a holistic approach to caring for my patients and their families, as it can be a very emotional time for patients and their families."

While in medical school, Dr. Chik was a Howard Hughes Medical Research Fellow. In her free time away from patient care, she enjoys boating, traveling and writing.
