About Me
Julia Stallings is a nurse practitioner who specializes in aortic disease. She has more than 10 years of experience in cardiac surgery. She has special interest in connective tissue disorders that affect aortic health, such as Marfans, Loeys-Dietz and Ehlers-Danlos.
A Baltimore, Maryland, native, Stallings chose her career because of her passion for science and health. She started her career in the cardiac operating room as a registered nurse. Her interest in aortic disease led her to pursue her current role as a nurse practitioner.
In addition to caring for patients, Stallings is the program lead for the Center for Aortic Disease at University of Maryland Medical Center. She is also a sub-investigator on many aortic surgical research trials and oversees University of Maryland's involvement with the international research registry known as International Registry for Aortic Disease.
As a nurse practitioner in the surgical setting, Stallings takes pride in being a part of a strong multidisciplinary team that provides the highest quality of care to aortic patients. She is passionate about educating patients and families on genetic testing and how aortic screening can help prevent traumatic events.
