About Me
Wendy Towers cares for neurosurgical patients alongside her colleague, Dr. Kurtom. She specializes in the performance of minimally invasive surgery to treat several conditions affecting the spinal cord and central nervous system including:
- Primary and metastatic brain, spinal cord and pituitary tumors
- Cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine conditions
- Peripheral nerve disease
- Hydrocephalus
- Head injuries
Towers provides comprehensive care in the exam room and in the operating room. In fact, getting to know patients is one of her favorite aspects of her role. She enjoys building relationships at every stage of their life and treatment plans.
For Towers and her colleagues, their focus is to provide a plan of care tailored to each patient's medical needs – and one that will relieve their pain through a non-surgical approach.
"There are so many effective therapies and procedures that can help alleviate pain and restore quality of life. Our team will first recommend physical therapy, injections or medications. Only once non-surgical options have been exhausted will we consider using the most minimally invasive approach with our patients."
Towers is also the first assist for Dr. Kurtom in the operating room, which means she helps provide surgical interventions when needed.
