University of Maryland Medical System offers compassionate hospice care services to people who are no longer receiving curative treatment for their underlying disease and, therefore, are usually approaching the end of their life. Hospice care helps support patients and families to improve their quality of life in their final weeks or months. Services often includes pain management to help the patient be as comfortable as possible.
