Welcome to the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center (UM CRMC). This site includes resources to assist you in applying for our programs and completing your clinical placement/practicum requirements.
Opportunities
Recruiting Nurses Through Alliances and Teamwork, or RN STAT Program, is a scholarship and mentoring program for candidates interested in a nursing career. Applicants to the RN STAT Program must first be accepted into the College of Southern Maryland.

Nursing Student Clinical Placement
All students must read the System requirements and are expected to adhere to these standards and to the UM CRMC policies and procedures below.

Clinical Forms
Please complete (or have your students complete) all necessary paperwork below prior to the start date. In addition, all students must complete the Universal Onboarding training; contact the school for access.
- Student Onboarding Forms
- Epic Access Request Form – Must be completed for each clinical experience.
Portfolio Training
If you are new to UM CRMC, you must complete Portfolio training. Access will be provided once the requests have been sent by your school.
Parking Information
- Carpool whenever possible; parking is limited.
- Park on the street in designated spaces.
- Leave spaces closest to the entrance for visitors and patients.
Badging
- The Clinical Instructor will be contacted by email to schedule a time to pick up student badges.
General Information
- No smoking on hospital grounds.
- Cafeteria serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Grab ‘n Go items are available between meals. Vending machines are located by the cafeteria and ED.
- An ATM and coffee shop are located in the lobby.
