George Sprinkel, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, is an experienced finance executive well versed in Maryland's unique hospital reimbursement environment. He plays a critical role in guiding the University of Maryland Medical Center's efforts to maximize financial performance and efficiencies while we continue to deliver high quality, compassionate patient care.

As CFO, George helps steer the UMMC leadership team in both clinical and non-clinical disciplines in the work they do together toward improving performance, outcomes, and the ever-critical measurements for quality, safety and patient experience that impact our financial health. Additionally, he informs important decisions on capital investments and operating expenses, closely evaluating how our spending impacts our bottom line, and how we invest our resources for innovation, equipment, and compensation.

With more than 20 years of Chief Financial Officer experience, including serving as CFO at George Washington University Hospital since 2015, George is respected as a proven financial leader of health care organizations ranging in scope from a small rural facility to an academic quaternary trauma center in a highly competitive market.

His history of working with aligned physicians to achieve financial goals and experience in achieving financial success through revenue cycle improvements, optimizing governmental reimbursement, supply cost controls and productivity management will be an asset to all of us at UMMC.
