Blood Drives
During this pandemic, it has been challenging for the Red Cross to receive donations. In order to help our community and patients in need, we will be holding blood drives at the UMMC Downtown Campus.
At this time, the Red Cross will not accept walk-ins for the safety of their staff and all donors. To keep with social distancing guidelines, appointments must be scheduled online.
Rapid Pass must be completed on the day of your appointment, prior to your arrival. You will receive an email with instructions prior to the drive.
There are many important reasons to give blood—your donation could save three lives, and in the U.S., someone needs blood every two seconds—but the main reason is that it is the right thing to do, and you'll walk a little taller after donating. Give the gift of life and attend one of our upcoming blood drives!
Who Can Give Blood
Learn what the requirements are for donating blood:
- Be in generally good health
- Be at least 17 years old
- Weigh at least 110 pounds
- Not have gotten a tattoo within the past year
- Not have donated blood within the past 56 days
