Throughout the last week as the world has witnessed terrible and unprovoked violence against the people of Ukraine, we are reminded that the mission of the University of Maryland Medical System to support the health and well-being of others extends beyond our state to all of those in need across the globe.

Starting at sundown tonight and continuing each evening into next week, buildings on each University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) campus will be lit in blue and yellow colors to honor Ukraine and the resolve of the Ukrainian people.

"The people of Ukraine have demonstrated incredible bravery and they deserve the support from organizations like ours that are committed to the health and safety of all people," said Mohan Suntha, MD, MBA, President and CEO of UMMS. "UMMS will always answer the call to support those in need and will stand united with all of those who fight against oppression in all its forms, near and far."
