New UM Shore Medical Center

Download the Project Fact Sheet

For more than a decade, the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS)  and University of Maryland Shore Regional Health have been building capacity, creating community, and elevating the quality of health care in Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s, and Talbot counties.

Together, we continue building on that progress, increasing investment in the health of our Eastern Shore community through the construction of a state-of-the-art $550 million regional medical center.

UM Shore Regional  Medical Center will encompass the very best of rural health care delivery in America and serve as a national model. Under one roof, it will bring together the latest insights of academic medicine, important centers of excellence,  patient-centric layout and design, and the latest innovations — all provided by exceptional UMMS health care providers. This ambitious UMMS project is the most significant in the history of UM Shore Regional Health.
