Scholarships

Dorchester General Hospital Foundation offers three Dorchester County nursing and medical-related grants and scholarships.

The Jesse Stevens Fund awards grants up to $2,000 for continuing education courses or certification of nurses living or working in Dorchester County, scholarships for Dorchester County graduate nurses in formal degree programs, or currently enrolled nursing students.   • Applications for grants are accepted on a continuing basis as funds are available.
  • Applications for formal degree programs are accepted January 1 to April 1.

The Jesse Stevens Fund offers $1,000 to $2,000 one-year scholarships (renewable up to 4 years) for Dorchester County high school students entering nursing programs. Download the DGHF High School Scholarship Application.

  • Applications are accepted each year from January 1 to April 1. To renew your scholarship at the end of each school year, reapply using the DGHF Scholarship Renewal Application after you have received your grades. You must maintain a "B" average and stay enrolled in that major for the renewal.

The DGH Foundation Medical Scholarship offers $1,000 to $2,000 one-year scholarships (renewable up to 4 years) for Dorchester County high school students entering medical-related programs. Download the DGHF High School Scholarship Application.
