Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Patients with chronic breathing problems or pulmonary diseases such as asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) will benefit from pulmonary rehabilitation.
We help patients improve their breathing technique, exercise respiratory muscles, learn more about their illness and how to manage it, and make positive changes in their lifestyle. The program is designed to enhance both physical and psychological well-being in order to increase stamina, improve the ability to perform daily activities, increase muscle strength, and decrease shortness of breath. The program is typically one-hour sessions, two-to-three times each week for twelve-to-eighteen weeks. A long-term pulmonary rehabilitation program is available for patients with chronic breathing disorders who want to take advantage of the professional exercise and educational setting beyond this time.
