Physical Therapy
Physical therapy is one of the key steps in many forms of rehabilitation. Our treatment at UM Shore Regional Health involves improving joint movement by strengthening soft tissue and extremities to help you regain full mobility and independent physical movement. Patients who choose our care will meet one on one with licensed professionals to identify their best form of therapy.
Besides general physical therapy, our outpatient rehab centers also specialize in hand therapy, lymphedema and other cancer rehabilitation and physical therapy.
Hand Therapy
Shore Regional Health's Comprehensive Rehabilitation Services offer an experienced hand therapy program led by a therapist who is certified through the Hand Therapy Certification Commission.
Specialty areas include:
- Arthritis
- Burns
- Fractures
- Nerve injuries
- Nail bed injuries
- Tendinitis
- Sprains and strains
Physical Therapy for Cancer Fatigue
Cancer-related fatigue is one of the most common side effects of cancer and its treatments. This type of fatigue is more severe, and sometimes more distressing, than everyday fatigue because rest is not an effective remedy. Even low levels of activity may cause exhaustion.
Physical therapists can accurately assess the best exercise to help cope with cancer-related fatigue and restore energy.
