Three Nurse Practitioners Join UM Shore Medical Group Primary Care

University of Maryland Shore Medical Group (UM SMG) – Primary Care recently welcomed three new nurse practitioners. Kathryn Wilson, MSN, CRNP, FNP-C and Melissa Wood, MSN, CRNP, FNP-C joined the Easton practice. Ashley Schreppel, MSN, CRNP, FNP-B, FNP-BC joined the Denton practice. All three providers are natives to the Eastern Shore.

Kristen Owen appointed to Chester River Health Foundation Board

Chester River Health Foundation (CRHF) recently elected Chestertown native Kristen Owen to its board of directors for a three-year term. Chester River Health Foundation raises funds to enhance excellence in health care at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Chestertown.

Ken Kozel Named To The Daily Record’s “2022-2023 Power 100” List

Ken Kozel, MBA, FACHE, President and CEO of University of Maryland Shore Regional Health, has been included in The Daily Record's 2022-2023 Power 100, a list of 100 men and women selected on the basis of their impact in shaping businesses, governments, nonprofits, law firms and other key institutions in Maryland. The 2022-23 list marks the second year that The Daily Record, a news outlet covering business, legal and government affairs in Maryland, has identified and recognized the top 100 people who play "an outsized role in the culture, lifestyle, civic conversation and economic fortunes in Maryland."

Certificate Of Need Officially Filed For New Regional Medical Center

University of Maryland Shore Regional Health (UMSRH) officially filed the Certificate of Need application for the Regional Medical Center at Easton project with the Maryland Health Care Commission (MHCC) on January 6. This action marks another important step towards opening the new hospital and medical services building on the SRH-owned site near the Talbot County Community Center.

Chester River Health Foundation Sponsors Angel Tree

The Chester River Health Foundation sponsored its annual Angel Tree on which "holiday wishes" were hung for children in the foster care programs for Kent and Queen Anne's counties and Kent Center, which provides services for adults who have developmental disabilities.

Jennifer Baima, MD Joins the Orthopedic Center

The Orthopedic Center (TOC), a partner of UM Shore Regional Health, recently welcomed Jennifer Baima, MD. Dr. Baima is a physiatrist, board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, with over 16 years of experience in academic and clinical medicine.

Gill Joins UM Shore Medical Group – Women’s Health

Certified nurse midwife Gabrielle Gill, MSN, CNM, WHNP recently joined the University of Maryland Shore Medical Group – Women's Health. Gill joins Javier Cajina, MD, Palak Doshi, MD, and Audrey Drummey, MD; nurse practitioners Jennifer Dyott, Dale Jafari and Angie Price; and certified nurse midwives Molly Bernish, Sunny Granger, Tristen Holloway and Lauren Rosales in the practice.

UM Chester River Health Foundation Announces Annual Appeal

The University of Maryland Chester River Health Foundation's 2022 annual appeal will benefit several projects at UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown including the continued development of the Aging & Wellness Center, the acquisition of a second chemistry analyzer and a hematology analyzer for the lab, and scholarships for advanced training and education for team members. Funds will also be used to help complete the renovation of the courtyard, a secure outdoor space used by patients and team members for meals, meditation and occasional meetings.
