Lisa Lisle, MSN, RN, CEN, Clinical Nurse Coordinator, University of Maryland Shore Emergency Center at Queenstown and EMS Base Station Coordinator for UM Shore Regional Health, was honored as Maryland Emergency Nurses Association Emergency Nurse of the Year by the Maryland Chapter, American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP). The award was presented to Lisle by Michael A. Silverman, MD, FACEP, President of the Maryland Chapter of ACEP, at the annual Maryland ACEP conference.

A new, state-of-the-art Senographe Pristina 3D mammography machine with tomosynthesis is the most recent addition to the Eleanor and Ethel Leh Women's Center at UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown. Designed by women, for women, this new equipment offers a more comfortable mammogram experience, with adjustments made for better positioning and compression, and improved image quality. Proper positioning and better image quality reduce the need for repeat scans.

Chester River Health Foundation (CRHF) recently appointed  Chestertown resident Clara A. Rankin, Esq., to its Board of Directors for a three-year term. Chester River Health Foundation raises funds to enhance excellence in health care at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Chestertown.

Four pharmacists at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Chestertown are participating in Geriatric Pharmacist Boot Camp, an intensive, two-day online training program offered by the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP). Their participation is made possible thanks to generous community funding provided through the UM Chester River Health Foundation (CRHF).

Shore Community Outreach Team (SCOT) will offer a free program, "Organizing Your Health," on Thursday, April 20, 2023, 1 to 2 p.m. at the Kent County Library, 408 High Street in Chestertown.

"Mind, Body and Soul -- Exploring Mental Health in the African American Community" is the focus of a half-day, free event scheduled for Saturday, April 29, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Minary's Dream Alliance in Chestertown.

"Shore to Shore: Free Health Screenings for Marine Industry Workers" attracted strong participation from watermen, boat builders and other marine industry employees from the Kent County region.

University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Chestertown's Mobile Wellness Team is now called Shore Community Outreach Team. The rebranding is in anticipation of Choptank Community Health System's plans to launch a mobile wellness program that will include a van staffed by medical care providers offering health care services in locations throughout Kent County.

LuAnn Brady, MSPH, has joined University of Maryland Shore Regional Health (UM SRH) as its Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. An accomplished senior health care industry executive, Brady has diverse and established credentials in strategic planning, program development and hospital operations for community hospitals, non-for-profit health systems and academic medical centers.

"Shore to Shore," an afternoon featuring free health care screenings for marine industry workers, is planned for Thursday, March 16, 12 noon to 4 p.m. in Rock Hall.
